NEW TEUPEN 23GT CHOSEN FOR ESSENTIAL LISTED
ABBEY CHURCH MAINTENANCE
7 December 2005

Rental Partner Rob Forrester of Forrester Access, Cheltenham was recently awarded a contract to inspect, clean and carry out necessary maintenance on Dore Abbey church in Herefordshire. The church is part of the 12th century Cistercian Abbey originally built on this site, the ruins of the remainder of the Abbey forming the church grave yard.
Having surveyed the site and seen a recent demonstration of the Teupen 23GT, Rob decided that this Platform was virtually ideal for the job. To start with, its compact dimensions allowed it to travel through the Lych gate. The adjustable crawler track setup also allowed the machine to travel on sloping ground across to the church with ease, whilst the automatic levelling outriggers allowed quick set-up once the machine had been positioned for the job.
The main boom telescopes up to 12 metres vertically and this together with the top boom which extends to 11.2 metres gives a very flexible working envelope which is ideal for work of this type. The need to keep repositioning the machine is kept to a minimum.
Rob commented at the end of the day’s work that he was not aware of any other machine that would have done the job and that it was virtually ideal for this kind of work.
